Primary PE & Sport Premium
The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.
Amount received
For the 2020-21 academic year, we have been allocated £16,780.
Summary of planned provision
Rebound Therapy - £1,700 To provide specialist Professional Development, equipment and equipment maintenance to enable teachers and support staff to deliver rebound therapy for children with the most complex physical needs. Training will also enable staff to use specialist equipment in our swimming pool to support these specific needs. |
Riding for the Disabled Association - £873 Funds support older pupils to access a weekly RDA session and an annual open fun day. RDA provides physical and emotional therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement. Horse riding with RDA delivers physical benefits, boosts confidence, improves communication skills and helps to build relationships. |
Swimming sessions in a public pool - £1,020 Funds enable us to take a group of more able swimmers off site to develop swimming skills in a large public pool. This enables pupils to experience swimming in a different setting and participate in activities within the community. Funding will also allow us to pay a specialist swimming teacher for this. |
Individualised class provision - £1,000 Sports funding will allow teachers to assess individual class needs and provide opportunities to engage in sporting activities that we are unable to provide in school. This includes days out at a local activity centre specialising in outdoor learning, climbing walls, companion cycling and sailing. |
Additional class provision - £3,500 Funding will enable children with more complex needs to access specialist dance provision through the provision of items such as projection equipment and sensory resources further enhancing their experience. |
Specialist dance teacher - £7,550 Funding allows us to employ a specialist dance teacher who is able to deliver dance and music sessions across the school. As well as developing physical skills this provision develops pupil confidence and self esteem, encouraging group work and interaction with others. |
Develop outdoor provision - £1,000 Funding will contribute to the cost of improving the outdoor play environment through the application of motivating playground markings to develop co-operative play and fitness skills. |
The impact of the school’s Sports Funding spend will be assessed annually and pupil progress demonstrated through case studies for individual pupils.
